The first followers and friends of Jesus saw this love at work firsthand.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

They walked with him as he performed miracles \u2014 watching him cast out demons, heal the sick, and love the unlovable. One can only imagine the shockwaves that pounded the apostles\u2019 hearts with each nail driven into Jesus\u2019 hands and feet. How could their innocent friend and Savior be captured, tortured, and killed without cause?<\/em> He was the Son of God. Why didn\u2019t he stop his accusers? Was he powerless? Had he abandoned them?\u00a0<\/p>

But three days later, their fears and questions ceased. Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to them. He had taken their punishment upon himself. Mercy was given to all on the cross, and when he rose from the grave three days later, the gap between humanity and God was closed. Life was victorious over sin and death.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ \u2014 by grace you have been saved \u2014 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. \u2013 Ephesians 2:4-7<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
